"We currently produce .38-55 with a .32-40 headstamp exclusively for Load-X ammunition. I don’t know that we would ever look at forming that case ourselves.

Regards,
Hunter Pilant
Process Manager/Chief Ballistician"

Price was not mentioned.  Lou

Load-X 32-40, 180gr RNFP @ 1600fps
$38 for 20
That's not much more than some have been asking for 32-40 brass.

IMO, the easiest way to get 32-40 brass is to anneal and reform the "long" StarLine 38-55 and trim to fit your chamber.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Will they (Starline) sell this 32-40 marked 38-55 brass to the public, or would Load-x sell any say 250 cases???

I ran by Load-X this afternoon while I was running errands in Santa Rosa.  I asked about buying 32-40 brass, and he replied emphatically that they weren't selling brass.

The LoadX price of $38 isn't too bad, but it may shoot like a scattergun if the bullet size isn't perfect for your bore. Might be best to sit down and pull bullets if going with LoadX vs. cleaning up a leaded up bore if it's too small for your groove.

I still think it's a conspiracy by the ASSRA SNOBs - Single-shot Narcistic  Octogenarian Breach-loaders.  They're still using brass first fired in 1972.

They have the fixed-ammo reloaders and Winchester M1894 shooters hyped up on obtaining .32-40 headstamp brass the SNOBs have hoarded in their basement.  I bet they even have CASES of unfired Winchester John Wayne ammunition!  Every time someone asks "What's an accurate SS caliber?" they say .32-40, then mentioned some religious guy named "Pope Harry."  Worn barrel – re-bore it to .33-40 so you can keep using that .32-40 head-stamped brass!  Watch at the range and you’ll see those guys smiling when they see someone’s fingers wrapped up – like the “cha-ching” of a cash register!  They're NOT senile - they're silently passing gas and smirking at us.

Once we're tired of smashed fingers and collapsed .38-55 brass they’ll flood the market with all the hoarded .32-40 head-stamped brass and we'll gladly pay them $5 or more per case for brass they bought for $.01 in 1970s.  It’s their retirement plan!  How do you think they afford those priceless antique SS rifles they keep taunting us with?  They have us hooked – look how we all “ooh” and “aah” at their targets!  We can't do that with our $6000 custom AR-15s.  Remember the Hunt brothers and the run on silver?  I'm onto you, you old coots! Smiley

Oh, Harry Pope? Huh  NEVER MIND!

LMAO, CajunRebel.  SNOBs is a very funny conjecture, but there might be more truth there than you realize.  Undecided Roll Eyes

I think I will convert all my historic CF's to RF's.  No worry about rollin' your own, paying exhorbitant prices for brass, investing $$$$$ in reloading equipment & supplies, etc, etc.
Just shoot the lowly .22 RF and have fun. Cheesy

George, I haven't seen any cheap .22RF in a long time either! Might save reloading supplies, but the days of plentiful and cheap .22LR are long gone too!
Except for us oldtimers who hoarded it when it was $140 per 5,000 rd. case! Amazing what the guy doing our granite countertops would do for a 500 rd. brick of .22 Lightning crap.

Ha!  They got you again.  Haven't you heard about the guy who buys unfired/primed 22LR brass, loads it with that obsolete, smelly BLACK POWDER Undecided, molds his own bullets, and BREACHLOADS.  They're at it again, enticing us with reports of unheard of accuracy.

I heard someone has been hoarding .22 EXTRA LONG! Roll Eyes

Cajun, I heard about them ruining perfectly good ammo.  If they want .22RF brass I got plenty of Ely onced fired brass that I'm holding on to until the price goes up to $2.00 a round. With the Ely headstamped .22 RF brass will go outa sight. Cool
