Can anyone tell me which make sight this might be?
The face of the apeture seems reasonably machined but the lead screw looks a bit coarse.

Yep........ think Zack nailed it. Based on the mat-finish, I would say it is the Lee Shaver "economy' Soule sight. They work fine (mine did) but ain't as beautiful as the more expensive models/brands.
