eabco single shots

anyone seen or own one of these falling blocks?
eabco describes them in glowing terms, as it does their barrels.
are they as good as described?
if so one would expect to hear more of them in accuracy circles (like scheutzen)
keep safe,
bruce.

I think their marketing folks took lessons from the old Herter's catalog.

We had a fellow in our group who re-barreled and chambered one in 32-40 and it was as competitive as anything else found on the line. Funny that you bring it up as it is one of those actions I have always thought about building a Schuetzen benchrest rifle of traditional design around. The reason I have not is the actions only are not available and their stock designs are unpleasing to me to be able to retain and re-use for my intended purpose.

I have two of the BF Arms pistols which is the same action. They have very good triggers (about 8oz) and are nice compact actions. As a rifle they are not the most attractive but are not overly expensive and make fine shooting firearms.

A friend has two EA Browns on in.22 the other a 32-40 They are superb shooting guns and the triggers are great.

I had one and could never figure out an easy way to drop the block out of the
action.  Compressing the main spring to get it together was a pain in the butt.
Maybe I didn't know the trick.  Charlie

I can't get past that receiver extension they use to make what's a pistol action into a rifle. I'd be quite interested in it if they tooled up to make the receivers one piece for the rifles.

The only other small (miniature) falling block in production I can think of is the Hagn.

I believe it would be the Dunn Lyon action and it's to die for in my book and its not considered to be a miniature. In fact I would love to own the rifle using that action that was stocked by Bernie Harrel and was featured in the Journal quite sometime back.

I have one in 32-40 that is very accurate. I built it in 1997 when they would sell an action for $350. I just looked at their website and was a bit shocked at the prices. If you want the most overpriced rifle on the market today, I think this is it. Other than that, it has no redeeming features.
