I've got three
Cody Ballard .408/400
Relined Marlin Ballard .408/400 TJ Liner
Both 16 twist.   Some are ordering them faster nowadays.
Marlin 1895 1898 vintage .4085/.4025; 20" twist

Best Regards,
John

agree, sort of.  .405 Winchester tends to be slightly larger.

FWIW, the Miroku Browning .40-65's average 0.400" bore & 0.409" groove, and I've measured a bunch.  None were under 0.409".

The Miroku's are generally excellent shooters. However, so is my 0.400" x 0.408" Green Mountain barrel with a 14.5" twist. While 16" seems to be the 'default twist' from Shiloh and C. Sharps these days, as is the Miroku, IMO, one can never go wrong with the faster twist. Especially if shooting heavier/longer (>420gr, or so) bullets at distances of greater than 200yd in your future.
