I have the CH4D 32 MS size die. It needed to be modified in order to fit the chamber I have. The ID was polished out in the neck area and the die shortened a bit too. Key to forming brass is to size a very short section and redistribute the lube often. Brass need to be sized to the rim to work,

There is, in fact, a .32 Miller. Dean Miller made the original as a .357 Max cartridge tapered down to .32. Later a costumer wanted to try a shorter case the solution was to shorten the case to Mag length and add a second taper to get it backto.32 and the .32 Miller short was born.

Key, make sure you anneal brass first. It will size so much easier and not rebound after. A friend just went through trying to get sized brass to fit for his chamber, he finally anneal some and they worked fine.

Not to pick a fight with Bob but if you use 5.6 X 50R RWS brass there is no need to anneal at all. If you do decide to anneal be careful not to let the anneal go down into the web of the case. Put them in water and leave only a 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch out of the water than pass the torch over the mouths of the case lightly.
This will prevent case stretching and having you open your action one day and eject the bottom of the case with the rest of the case leftr in the chamber.

to get my ch4d forming die to form for my CPA 32Miller, i have to form in a loading press, then use an arbor press to form rim to base of die, then tap out with a premade punch, then I can load fixed, after tbis done only neck size,  works like a dream...I do think my chamber is very tite...

40-rod, no problem, I agree on annealing, but down side on the 5.6 X 50R RWS brass it is hard to find and expensive. Max brass, 360 DW brass, or 357 mag brass all works and much more available at cheap prices. I think the RWS brass I have was as good of brass as you could ask for wish ther was more out there.

Along parallel lines, Charlie Dell came up with a much simpler design for the same purpose... a straight tapered case based on the 357 Mag as a starting point.  He steadfastly refused to call it the "32 Dell" as many of us did, preferring to call it the 32/357.  He too found the 5.6 X 50R brass to be a better "donor" for long lasting brass.

The only downside of his system was that the body and the rim of the chamber were cut separately, and a tiny variation in the depth of the straight tapered body made a difference in chamber body size... the bench gun he built and I now own has a much tighter chamber than the offhand rifle he campaigned (now owned by singleshot) so while he can borrow brass from me, I have to FL resize brass from his chamber to go back into mine.  Undecided
