Well I got the rifle today.  Not as good a deal as it could of been.  The 219 Zipper barrel is bright but with pitting on the lands.  I really didn't plan on keeping it in that caliber anyway, so I am just going to play with the 50 or so cases that came with it.  The right side of the receiver has some shallow pliers marks and the lever pin took quite a bit of effort to drift.  It turns out that the hole in the extractor was too small.  I was able to drill and file it out just enough for a good fit.  The set trigger did not work, but with some cleaning and lubing and bending the end of the knock-off spring, it is now functional.  No a real fan of roll over combs, but it could be reshaped if needed.  Now I just need to decide what caliber to re-barrel it to.  So far I have a low wall in 25-20 Win, high walls in 22. 32 Miller short, 32-40, 38-55 and 45-90 and now 219 Zipper.

That's what you need, as Joe would say, "real Bad"

I was thinking maybe a 32 RKS heavy barreled bench rifle.  I am sure that is what Dave would say.  I am a traditional ctg kind of guy though.

You have a .32, how about .50-140?

Sounds like I may as well get rid of the zipper brass I have, eh?

There's always the .30-30, so nice to shoot, and cheap to feed.

I do not shoot unknown reloaded ammunition. After a bad experience with 6.5 X 55 reloads made from surplus military  .30-'06 by a commercial reloader, I never again shot reloads that I did not make or supervise.

Little time is needed to pull the bullet and the powder makes good fertilizer, high in nitrogen content. When working with someone to teach them and I am there to see each step, I will shoot those reloads.
