So how did you fix the problem?

JS I don't suggest that Middle Virginia gets as cold as Alaska but NEVER had this problem before Except shooting cowboy lever action with a Uberti Win 73 in 357 mag on a 26 degree day 2 yrs ago my shots were hitting the ground below the chickens and it got worse until i put the rounds in my chest pocket between relays.  Arnie same day same results in 44-0 with a Marlin 94 Centennial and an Uberti Iron Frame Henry.

Emmet, I only asked about the rifles you are shooting because
the load I mentioned should only be shot in the stronger
lever guns like the Win M92 or Marlin 1894s.  NOT in that
Uberti M'73.

One fix to the cold weather squibbing load.
Try magnum pistol primers.

Excuse me, heavier loads NOT in your Uberti Iron Frame Henry.
