Something tells me your bathroom scale is way off Paul! I have a 34" barreled Rolling Block with a barrel larger than the frame, and it doesn't weigh 20 lbs. It's around 15.5 lbs., and likely heavier than your Hepburn.

Don't tell the wife that the bathroom scale reads heavy.    Wink

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

I think she'd love to know it reads heavy! Not so much if it reads light though!

Indeed........... my 40-65 Hepburn with DSTs, shotgun buttplate, pistol-grip, 32" long full-octagon 3 1/2 profile barrel is only 13# with a 23" MVA scope and a 14oz Hg recoil suppressor in the stock. Due to the compact design of the action, Hepburns are quite light compared to most other single-shot, dropping block rifles. My 35-40 with a 26" long round barrel is only 10.5#. Very handy rifle. Think a better scale is in order.

Glenn - 2x CPA 44 1/2 w/22LR (Shilen ratchet-rifled & Bartlein 5R rifled), 38-40RH & 38-55WCF (Bartlein 5R rifled) & 40-65WCF (GrnMtn 'X') barrels

Wonder if that sight has some heritage from muzzle loading open sight competition.
Sort of looks like one of several types of "cheater" open sights used before the national rules were changed.
