Dan,

You need to make sure that your chamber is long enough that the case mouth on that 2.125" brass isn't in the leade when chambered.  It needs to have room to expand on firing and let go of the bullet.

The best way to determine this is to make a chamber cast with cerrosafe or a similar low temp melting alloy.

A simpler, but less certain way is to leave enough bell in the mouth that the mouth is a couple of thousandths or more larger in diameter than the neck with the bullet of interest (diameter) seated. If a dummy or empty case with this slight amount of flair at the mouth can go all the way into the chamber without interference, there's enough room for the neck to expand and release the bullet.

Last, I mentioned being less than satisfied with the trigger, so it motivated me to drop it off with a local smith to have it tuned.  I'll be anxious to try it out after I get it back.
Mike.

Shot one of these for several years in 38-56 (had it rechambered). Lee Shaver will do the trigger for $35 (that was 10yr ago, so may be more these days) plus shipping. All he needs is the trigger, with sear attached, which is simple to remove and put back in. The only problem is the sear material is not that hard and can wear over time (mine wore down after about 2000rds). Easiest thing is simply purchase a second sear ($45?) from Lee and have a spare. Nice rifles.
