I love it! Maybe it's my phone, didn't get a description or info. What's the story? If it's a Ruger prototype how did you acquire it? What's the caliber?

Will a non functioning side hammer make it legal for BPCR matches?

The why is easy. Considering some matches require an exposed hammer gun, converting would make it legal almost everywhere.

This rifle struck a cord in my memory, and except for the Ruger lever under the trigger guard I couldn't help but feel I'd seen this rifle, ( or one very much like it) before. After going back through some books and magazines I think I found it. I'll try to get Timber to post a picture for me, but for now I'll share this.
The rifle was made by Alex Henry of Edinburgh, Scotland. Info can be found, among other places I'm sure, in Wal Winfer's book British Single Shot Rifles Vol. 1. A lovely shootin' iron I must say.
Merry Christmas all.

It would take some work to get a Ruger to look like an Alex Henry patent action.

I have deleted my pictures here as I accidentally may have hijacked the Ruger thread and I am sorry if I did that. However I started a new thread with the pictures and hope all enjoy as the rifles have given me enjoyment all these years
