I have a rifle with double-set triggers.  Pulling the front trigger will not trip the sear unless set and released.  There is a name for these type of triggers but I cannot remember the technical term.

Help please?

Which particular rifle and triggers are you referring to?

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

Joe beat me to it. I was going to say single lever, double set as opposed to double lever, double set.

Happen to have a Winchester SST I shoot a lot.  Set, it's excellent--not as delicate as a DST, of course, but light and quite reliable.  But pulling it unset, to lower the hammer, for ex., almost requires two fingers on the trigger.
