Hmmm - The desirable Hudson 308223 went for 1152.50...152.50 correction!
Anyone on the Forum the Lucky Owner now?

Vall, I paid about the same $90 for the 375292 and the 319293.  The mold that cost me $$$ was the 375166, 330gr ... $250!  IMO, it's the most accurate BPCR fixed cartridge non taper 38-55 mold I own and shoots MOA at 100-200 and 300yds.  I had Accurate Molds clone it
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)  375166. This is the factory .38-330 grooved bullet. It is used with a shell full of powder for target work. (PB, FN, 295, 330 – TP 449)

I'm curious. If it's okay, can you give a little idea about the bore, groove and throat specs. It seems like this bullet might be considered a good bit oversize, especially around the base. Thanks for any comment.

John Boy did a post about this bullet some time ago. Here's a link to his dimensions for the 375272 bullet:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

As you can see it's a pretty large .383" base diameter, and not a size that works as cast for every gun. I have a false muzzle Schoyen Ballard, but prefer to breech seat the Hudson bullet in my Schoyen. In the Schoyen I use it as cast, as my bore slugs to .3815" groove diameter.
I've also run it in my Lyman lubrisizer to size it down to use in smaller bores of around .379"-.380" I shoot. It makes the first two bands the same size, but still works great! I've even used it as a cased cartridge in a couple singleshots and an 1893 Marlin repeater after sizing, and had it work well.
It's my favorite bullet for most of my .38-55's.

Thanks Vall. I was wondering if there were options to use the bullet beyond the specialty target rifles. I appreciate your comments.

Back in 2010 when I got the 375272, I didn't have a throated 38-55 for the bullet or a seater. I procrastinated because the 375166 was producing such good groups, even knocking down steel out to 500m
So, I've had CPA throat my Uberti for the Dr Hudson and spent the bucks for Russ's seater and come Spring will see what the bullet will do with a vernier sight.  Here's the seater rig I made for it...

FYI ... if anyone is interested in the 375272 Hudson mold, I had it cloned by Accurate Molds ... (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
