Yes the match is a lot of fun, with safety being a large part of that thank's to Bruce and other club members.
The match takes place in Harris Mn. and is very well run with more shooters than the results show as some just shoot for fun and don't turn in score targets.

Again a big Thank You to Bruce & Gerald for putting on the match and the friendly group of shooters attending !!

Terry,

By period iron sights I refer to Section 1.23 of the ASSRA Rules Manual. Sights allowed are generally Soule or Vernier types, some of the old Lyman's are OK but they can be a challenge for fine adjustments. Excluded would be modern click adjustable Redfield as well as Anschutz types, the front globes would be OK though as I understand the rules.

This was our 9th year hosting this event. I run two matches per year one about the first week of June, and then usually the second week of August. It's a lot of work but it has been a lot of fun too. It has been especially satisfying drawing new shooters into this great sport. When we first started out many of the guys were shooting buffalo guns with black powder and fixed ammo, a few still do because that is what they have for equipment. But the guys who are more serious about it have acquired good equipment and have discovered the science of breech seating and better scores. Still no 250's yet, but we are working on it.

All,

I should have mentioned we shoot at the Gopher Rifle and Revolver Club, Harris Minnesota. We are about 50 miles north of the Minneapolis - St. Paul metro area, not far off I - 35.
