lube again....

Continuing my lube questions...
I have acquired some Alberta Schuetzen lube for use in my rifle to see if I can improve things. A couple of questions:
Is it alright to just put these things into my rifle and bang away, or should all remainder of my old faithful be mucked out first?
And, in the same vein, is it problematic to shoot more than a single type of lube in a rifle (back and forth) while I'm at the range?
I ask the latter because I have lots of bullets already lubed with the old home brew  lube that I could use up when the summer heat is gone.
I still not certain what went wrong (or if it's the lube at all), but I'm hopeful this new direction will get things back on track. It sure smells nicer than my own ever did Wink

I'd clean it very well and then run 50 or so shots through it before trying to evauewate anything.

40-Rod, thanks for the info.
The only time I know I ever switched lube here is when I got this one and started it on it's diet of what I call my standard lube.
I'm gonna use the new lube, and want it to be under the best conditions. So, now I know what I've gotta do.
Sure was hoping that it would be easy to use up a few hundred lubed and sized that I already have, but not if it's gonna cloud the issue when intermingled.
Again, I appreciate the advice. Smiley

The only sideways bullet I ever shot out of my Stevens-Pope barrel was due to a quick lube change.  Some type of build up was ending my accuracy at a CBA match.  I quickly cleaned and moved on to my old lube after a couple foulers.  A few shots into the string, a sideways bullet in the target at 200 yds  Undecided I didn't expect a mioracle, but I didn't expect that!  Shocked

I don't ever expect miracles while shooting.  Wink

I guess I'll just have to dig in here and start the process of getting it reconditioned- after about 35 years. Never had a sideways bullet, only a tilted one explained by increasing velocity or abandoning said bullet.

Some of my best targets were shot with bullets that were slightly tipped..............
I heard once that a bullets most accurate point is at the point of inaccuracy!!!!!!!
I believe that pinpointing the perfect point in a bullets path at the required distance, with repeatability is the desired requirement.
And this point may not be achievable consistently with a perfectly spiral bullet at impact!
Just my Idea, so I don't really worry about a tilted bullet hole in a target I instead worry about the group size.

SST, I have also shot well sometimes with bullets slightly tipped, but I was intending to illustrate those junked loads in light of the sideways one that Schuetzenmiester spoke of. I don't even notice whether a wee bit of oblong is occurring any more. But,.....
I'm glad to hear that the lube I'll be changing to is from (and still is) the product of all the experimenting and research that you guys have put into it. It helps make this new work seem like it's gonna work out fine. Thanks to all who have piped up for me here. Smiley

My 33-47 bullets are nearly all tipped in the target at 200.  Only recently started shooting at 100 in CBA.  I have been working on getting them to consistently tip towards center  Roll Eyes
