None of that would be suitable for a gunstock. Grain pattern is all wrong. Best just trade it to me for some nice solid straight grained black walnut. In all seriousness that would is outstanding. Please keep is up to date on the project. Lucky gal

Glad it's your problem to choose from those blanks! I'd be hard pressed to make a choice amongst a few of them!

I'm just supplying the wood.  Will twist Johns arm to post pictures if I have to.

So John, what is Gabi partial to?  Does she know yet?

           Joe.
her favorite is picture number 6. she also likes the second peice in the last picture you posted, and in the group picture she likes the dark one on the right, i think the 2nd or 3rd piece down.

And I will post pictures when it is all done, lol.

It will be a while, but it will for the most part be just like any other helm pattern, classic.

I recommend picking 3 or 4 nice ones and make a swap stock gun.
Why not, they make swap barrel guns  Roll Eyes

Swapping stocks was fairly common with the early schuetzen/BR shooters. Quite a few top shooters had two stock patterns.

If my daddy in law had a pile of that wood, I would make a stock for each day of the week  just  to fit my fancy.  It could be a mix of offhand and bench or a few just for aesthetic value.  Cool

And they can be so blindingly beautiful they distract the shooters around you particularly if you throw the occasional hissy-fit if it gets a bit of dust or god-forbid a scratch on it.    Cheesy

Since its not my money I'd strongly recommend a nice bit of original type and quality nickel-plating on the lever and butt-plate, or if you are gonna go the whole nine yards, the action too, like some of those early prize-trophy rifles. Grin
