Javelina Schuetzen Lube

Gentlemen,

With the various discussions about lube taking place I felt compelled to post this notice about Javelina Schuetzen Lube. It is my hope that this will prevent anyone from questioning why they are unable to order Javelina Schuetzen Lube from me.

Due to my limited supply of Alox 350 and the fact that I can no longer buy it in bulk at a reasonable price I will no longer be able to add to my customer base. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to anyone who was thinking of trying it.

To those of you who have purchased Javelina Schuetzen Lube from me I will continue to supply you with lube for as long as possible. I anticipate that will be ~ 10 years based on my present production rate, so don't feel you need to stock up or place an order if you're not ready for more. With any luck I may still find a source for Alox 350 that will be economical enough to buy from, although in two years of searching I've had no success.

I truly hope that no one is insulted by my decision, but I feel it's only fair to take care of my current customers for as long as possible.

Respectfully Yours,
JerryH (Jerry Hartwig)

For those of us who use your lube, it will be a sad day, when you are unable to provide us with your quality product.

JerryH,

calledflyer mentioned that you had kindly pm'd the recipe for Javelina Schuetzen Lube to him in another thread so he could try to mix it himself if he could obtain the components.
Any chance you might be willing to post the recipe here on the forum?

If I divulge the Javelina Schuetzen Lube recipe it would severely cut into my retirement funding.  Cool

The recipe never has been a secret (as far as I know) no matter if you call it Javelina Schuetzen Lube, Smiley Lube, or 75/25 lube. Oops, there goes the secret recipe! That's 75% Alox 350 and 25% USP yellow beeswax.

Even though the recipe is no secret, getting the Alox and beeswax to melt/emulsify without scorching is. I make 20 pounds at a time and have no idea what you would do to produce 2 pounds. You're on your own there. If you get any smoke, even a whiff, while making or reheating it just throw it out and start over. It should always be reheated in a double boiler. Some have ignored my warning only to order more lube after having to throw theirs out.

Keep in mind that whatever lube you do end up with won't be real Javelina Schuetzen Lube. The real JSL is made by a Legally Ordained Minister and every stick is blessed with Holy Liquid while being made.

No wonder it shoots so well!!!!

I'm going to be real careful, from now on. I don't want to hit one of those angles that fly above my bullets Smiley

Thanks for the "slip up".  A quick search shows
Alox 350 for sale at $16 for wrapped two-pound blocks.
That is not all that expensive so I will give it a go.
It might make me shoot better, hell, it can't hurt!  Undecided

What does it do if it gets smoked or too hot

Thanks, Is that true with all beeswax lubes that get burned?  I've never smoked any so I'm totally in the dark here.  Maybe I should try it, eh?  Cheesy

Pan lubing is the best way to apply it.
