From this time forward I would appreciate it if the scoreing of ASSRA match rimfire benchrest targets is done according to ASSRA rules. Thank you.

The top 3 positions, were much closer, if scored to the center of the bullet impact and the winner is more apparent when scored ASSRA. It was actually a very close match and would have scored this way:

1. Tony, 241 3c
2. Frank, 241 2c
3. Lonnie, 241 2c (wide shot by only 1/8")

Next shoot will be, August 27th.
We had a discussion and a vote on holding a larger invitational match for September. It will be a two day match, with the range reserved, Friday for practice.
The format will be:

Two relays of 11 shooters, CF and two relays of 10 shooters RF.

50 shot, 22RF, BR, AS and 50 shot OH @ 100 yd. Prize to be determined, to the winners of each match.

50 shot, CF, BR, AS and a 20 shot BR, IS @ 200 yd on Sunday, the 25th. $100 to the winner.

I will be posting more about this in both the Annoument and the General sections of this forum.

John, Why not give up Frank watching and take up bird watching?   Your reports are getting stale and need fresh  material.

Gentleman when Frank came out to shoot with us he was breech seating his rimfire rifle, loading at the bench and diid extremely well. If memory serves me right he came in second possibly third maybe even first I just can't remember. Frank please feel free to clarify exactly where you finished? I was not only impressed with his results but it was also the first time I have ever seen it done. If anyone is interested in being competitive in Schuetzen rimfire and cannot afford the ammunition race Frank's expertise in doing so is invaluable. All though we do not get along at times my comments are indeed in all honesty and well deserving on his behalf. I would also encourage him to write a detailed article in the journal along with pictures so his vast knowledge in this field would not be lost. If he has calling in the life I truly do feel that Rimfire breech seating Schuetzen is it and I now truly do wish him the best.

I also want to give Bob Z a heart felt thank you for opening my eyes in regards to giving credit to where credit is due and having the ability to overlook the on going distractions and slight differences in opinions for the other topics and subject matter.

What you need to look into is a job, Frank. Even if she worked a partial week could afford a little match ammo.

You are very welcome Frank and well deserved. I don't remember the rifle you were using or I would have mentioned it as well. I tend to think it was one of the German rifles if memory serves me right but it's been so long ago I could be entirely wrong.

Yes, it was my German 22, re-barreled by Modesto's, very own George Titherington. A famous barrel maker of the 1930 - 50's.

Leon gave me some info about him, while I was there.

Pictured below, with it's new 3200 scope. I'm very proud of this rifle and it is still my OH rifle.

I did not realize it had a Titherington Barrel. Back in the hay day of competitive smallbore shooting they were considered to be the best money could buy. You do indeed have yourself something to be very proud of and thanks again for sharing.

Some of the people that shot Titherington barrels, back in the 30's.
