The title pretty well sums it up.

If you did, how did you melt it?

Double boiler or nuke it in a glass measuring cup (pyrex) in 2 minute increments. As Fitz said-"don't push it". Once it is about 3/4 melted stop heating it- residual heat will take it the rest of the way.

I had in a double boiler for nearly an hour and it just jelled the bottom slightly.  I finally nuked it a couple times and that melted it.  Can you damage this stuff with those methods?

The reason  I'm wondering is I was not even on paper going from 100 to 200.  First time in  30 years those sight setting failed me  Cry Cry  I was shooting CBA match so did not have time to experiment and investigate.   I cleaned quickly and went to my normal lube.  After a 25  shots, the combo contamination apparently build up to disaster.  I had a bullet miss the scoring rings and hit nearly sideways.  That is a first too  Embarrassed

Schuetzenmiester, that sounds very much like a contamination problem that popped up on me at Aetna Green in 2002. I was there and met a guy I had been communicating with on  line. He had a really nice CPA in 38-55 but was not having any success shooting it. I offered some of my 38-55s from a Pope Mold with Pope Lube on them. He came back to me about an hour later and said now he was going to have to kill me so he could buy the Mold from my estate as it was now shooting super. I had given him a box of about 50 or so bullets. So he now went back to his position to shoot. A couple of hours later I was wandering around and found him and he was deep in DO-DO. His rifle would not hit anything so to speak. We cleaned the heck out of and shot some of his original Bullets but they were just as bad as mine. I never did hear from him as to what happened. But the only change was going from his bullets and Lube to mine. And mine have shot well in every 38-55 I have. But the Bullet and Lube has always been the same. HTh Regards, FITZ. Smiley

One of the last times Charlie was actively involved in a CSV shoot at his place, a bunch of us were in the house and FITZ's son walked into the kitchen as somebody was nuking lube in the microwave.  He shook his head a little and opined that only at Charlie's place would this be looked upon as totally normal.  Cheesy

I miss those times at Charlie's!!  Cry

I have no doubt many get very good results with 59C.  Charlie Dell is well known for many developments and investigations far beyond anything I would ever dream of doing.

This particular rifle seems to be quite sensitive to lubes for top accuracy.  It will shoot 247 with most lubes, but 250 in a corner of the 25 ring with a proper lube it likes.  Took a few years to figure that out  Cheesy  Matter of fact, it took at least a couple three of years to figure out how it happened the first time  Grin

Good to know 59C is operating normally.

I pan lube with 59-C, as well as Javalina Schuetzen lube and Emmerts. As was mentioned earlier it depends on the rifle I'm using and temperatures I'm shooting in.All three have their place, although here lately I've been using more 59-C and Javalina Schuetzen. As a matter of fact I just purchased more 59-C from Willis couple months back.

What are their places?  We don't normally have really high or low temps or humidity here in the PNW.
