I am looking for an inline bullet seater die for .38-55 WCF and ran across the Vickerman micrometer inline bullet seater die. Is anybody using one? Would like your feedback or other suggestions for an inline bullet seater die.

How much did that improve your groups at say 200 yards Dave?

Grove is .377.  Thanks for the info. Scheutzendave.  I will check the seater measurements.

Looks like I'm  the only Bob in this thread.  I never used an inline seater, just standard RCBS.  But my Meacham bullet unseater, 45-2.6 with RKS barrel would shoot 10 shot groups under 3" and 300, under 4" at 300 and under 6" at 500.  Never shot it at 100 and never had an opportunity to measure at 400, 600, or 800 to 1000.

I need to make a correction.  Long time ago.  Make that under 7" at 500.

I have a Meachum in line set up  for 32/40 & 38/55. Never really used it. My 38/55 always shot with fixed ammo needs no improvement for offhand matches.

32/40 I had the idea, and still believe, I could shoot higher scores using fixed ammo vs breech seating . Rifle is very accurate breech seated.

This due to fatigue factor 100 shots offhand with my 14 lb when scoped CPA  Fixed ammo I can shoot using a standing rest lifting the gun to make the shot back a few inches to rest while reloading . Breech you have to bench the rifle loading , increase in weight to lift and time required 100 shots.  My Hudson match scores were affected by errors not group size.

Only way to prove it is to do it & standing rest is the the method I shoot that rifle with its Rimfire barrel.  Thing that got in the way, going fixed standing CF  is lack of CF offhand competition formal Schuetzen mid Atlantic easy driving distance Put the Meachum away not using it at all. idea is a good one and I am pretty sure it turns out good ammunition .

If anybody wants it I could be talked out of it.
