The Webber seater has a built-in adjustment thread with set screw lock.

Hi Chris ,nice to talk to you again ,thanks for your input and for a possible contact with Steven Durren ,also do you happen to know how the Russ Weber seaters are made adjustable ?
regards ,  Glyn

Hi,

You can find Mr. Durren's info in this thread:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

The Weber seater is a pretty slick design.  The plunger rod is threaded and you can use the same Allen wrench for the set screw to turn the rod via a hole drilled through it.  I imagine his design took a while to perfect.

Mr. Durren's seater is adjustable in a different way.  You turn the threaded plug with a screwdriver from the inside of the case mouth.

Chris.

Does anyone know whether the Webber breech seater is available for a Winchester LOW wall?  I know there is a high wall variant, but is there enough bearing surface in the cut sides of the low wall to engage the hook Russ uses?  I'm fond of the seaters that "singleshot" has made for me, but I'm liking that brass body of the Webber to go with the other brass-bodied tools in a kit I'm assembling for my Hurst-engraved, Dell-barreled (Grn Mtn) old flat side low wall.  It's gonna be showy whether I shoot it well or not!  Wink

Here is a homemade job that works well. The square stop is adjustable, can slide up shank , can use on Win Highwall, Borchardts....Can be used with scope.

I just wanted to post a picture of the breech seating tool that myself and a friend constructed with the assistance and kindness of the members. I would have found it very difficult without the help and advice which I received.

Thanks once again to everyone who helped me with this project.

Best regards,

Glyn

nice job! I hope the solder joint holds up, otherwise looks great. Pentz if you threaded the rod for a nut on your push seater or put a stop collar on behind the case you could adjust your depth.

Glyn,
Looks good. Should work well.
If you used hard silver solder (silver braze) for the joint, it is probably stronger than the brass.

These are the photos I meant to post. I hope they illustrate a little better the breech seating tool that we constructed.
