Questions

As a 'new guy', I have a few questions.
When using, breech seated-tapered bullets,  how does one do the sizing operation after casting?

What die set is recommended for a .32-20 (CPA)?  It sounds like the case is only holding the powder charge for the shot?

Is Starline brass adequate for the above mentioned benchrest rifle?  Fire forming brass?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks

If you have the proper tapered bullet, it should not need to be sized. Ideally, your tapered bullet should be .001" over groove diameter. As a new guy, pan lube bullets for best results.
Should your bullet be more than .002" over groove diameter they can be sized. Use a Lee push-through sizing die. You can order custom dies to exactly fit your rifle. Access their web site for ordering details. I have successfully sized several different tapered bullets with their push-through dies. The tapered bullet will self-center as it is pushed through the die. Be sure to lube bullets prior to sizing.
As to your 32-20 questions, I've never shot one so I have no real life experience to share.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

No one knows the 32-20 CPA better than CPA. Randy was spot on with bullet and Gail or Paul at CPA can very easily address your other question simply give them a call. They are both great people to talk to and extremly user friendly.

When you speak with Paul or Gail at CPA, ask them about the new design, "swaged" and lubricated bullet which is designed specifically for breech seating in the .32-20CPA. Made by Dave Bennett whose contact info. you can get from CPA. Good Shooting.

What about dies?  With new brass, I usually fire form the new cases to the chamber.  Isn't that necessary using breech seated bullets?

once fire formed and maybe occasionally re-timmed for consistent length, most of the straight walled cases never need resizing IF used only on the same (properly head-spaced) rifle/chamber.   some folk will use the same half a dozen cases for years, some have used only one. so sizing dies are seldom used once the case is formed properly.
BUT that is with relatively low pressure target loads.  Primer pocket erosion may eventually wear a case out and bottle neck cases may have a different dynamic.

+1. Paul & Gail are both primarily Schuestzen shooters and are a wealth of info on using their rifles for same.
