I charge ALL my cases at home in my gun room.  Saves me wear and tear on my arthritic hands.  Cork is used as a wad above the powder.
Some charges are from the season before or whenever.
I have been competitive for awhile, but no records.

Extremely nice shooting Keith and a great looking target. Do you vary your load slightly or run with the same load through out the day and or year?

Same load.  Same powder.  Only way to chage it is to de cap and load at the range.

This practice has been tested thru the Ohler Balistics Lab, and the friend running it said to change nothing.

Very consistant, I have the results around here somewhere.

Standard deviation was extremely low.

Was shooting around a 1 1/2" group.

Thanks Ray and I hope it is helpful information for the new folks getting into the sport. When I started out various and helpful information was somewhat lacking and my first competitive goal was to come in second to last place and it took me two years to achieve it. True story and as I continued to set and achieve higher goals I freely shared what I was learning along the way. Continually coming in last place was not frustrating it was the not knowing of what to do to improve that was. Thanks to those who have achieved an abundance of competitive success on this group who share freely no one who visits this site should have to needlessly go through that same unknowing experiance. This topic is a fine example of just how important one little variable could possibly add up to becoming a big one not only for the new shooters but also myself as I continue to strive to learn. It is the elimination of all the variables that confront us that leads to the road of success and they need to be shared in order to be made known. For one to discover them as they arise takes countless hours spent at the range and something that not everyone has the opportunity to do. To make them known and then eliminated gives these folks more time to dedicate to simply practicing and improving thier shooting skills as practice is trully the only means to achieving perfection.

Lets keep them coming as they Pop up in ones mind as John Boy has done with his current topic and an extremely interesting and productive one at that.

Keith, You have given me new hope. I've done all my loading at home, feeling that I was achieving excellent consistency and that would pay off. Results, so far, have been very rewarding; but, I am still seeking my 1st "250". I must admit I'd love to spend a day along side of the Modesto shooters who mostly load on the bench and pump out perfect targets regularly. Lots to look forward to. Thanks for sharing. Ray
