Just wondering if anyone has any information about the quality of the 1885 Cimarron High Wall with double set triggers.

Thanks Dale

I have the Uberti High wall in 38-55, sporting stock with double sets, and I love it. Bore dia is about .382 so a custom mold is in order, but that will cost you about $100 from Accurate Molds (double cavity).
No complaints whatsoever about the rifle.

I have one in 405 that I purchased w/the intent of re- barreling but after shooting some factory Hornady loads it shot very well so left it as is. The groove diameter is huge at .414 so I made a custom tapered mold for breech seating that shoots good. Also when it was new the fly was to long making it unsafe (wouldn't always stay cocked) and the hammer hit the side of the well in the trigger guard/lever, both are minor repairs and so far all of the hardened wear surfaces are holding up well.
I also removed the ugly red varnish (nice figured wood under all that red)  reshaped the stock a little to my liking
and oil finish applied and made it a through bolt stock plus cased the butt plate as they come blued.
All in all very pleased  and would do it again

hope this helps

I forgot to mention that the extractor rubbed on the side of the frame and needed to be filed a bit. this is a common problem from what I have heard. a friend of mine bought one in 22 hornet and same problem. an easy fix but a bit maddening until I found the solution. on my 32-20 the twist rate is really slow one in 20. I have found that it will stabilize the saeco number 630 a plain base of 140 grains.  I have shot one inch groups with it as well as the lyman 3118. joe

I looked at their website and did not see any set trigger options.  Are they still available?

I have a Deluxe Highwall in 38-55 with DST and so far I am very happy with it. It seems to be very accurate the few times I have had it out.
The only thing I don't like is that it's a "set-only" trigger, so there's no option to fire it unset.

I have a Uberti 45/70, 32" barrel.  The action is very smooth and it shoots nicely but I hate the look of the finish.  The metal is blued to look like black chrome and the wood looks more like fine furniture, unlike the original Winchesters, and gives off a strong reflection in sunlight.

Also, I replaced the factory sights, as the originals were junk, and installed a set of Browning Vernier tang and globe front sights.

I have 3 with PG and DST.

The 30-40 shoots very well, not too much time with the others yet.

Would buy another!

Don't believe I could have gotten a better piece of wood for this 38-55 Uberti!  The Uberti 45-70 is not even close

Just loaded some ammo and Joe-s is right. My .380 bullets can be pushed through the barrel with a stick. So be sure to measure yours and plan on a custom mold.  BTW anyone know the twist rate for the Uberti 38-55s (to lazy to measure it).

Thank you,
Charles
