Just put a scope on my .40-50 SBN Shiloh Sharps. Old eyes don't see like they used to. This will be for hunting deer and pigs

I like it ! Also like the caliber. When my boys are a little bigger they are getting a Shiloh business rifle with a plain trigger in 49-50bn

The scope looks very fitting to the rifle and they seem compliment each other very nicely.

I wasnt real sure about e .40-50 bottle neck when i saw the rifle on Bill Goodman's website but the Saddle Rifle with half round barrel is my favorite style. I had planne . Send it to Shiloh to be rechambered to .40-70 BN or .40-90 BN but after ooting it I have found that It is a fun round to shoot and has very little recoil and is very accurate.

I really enjoy the old style falling block single shot rifles and wish I would have hunted more with one before I had to give it up. They are now at the opposite end of spectrum with suppressors now legal in several states and the multiple round synthetic AR's and other clones there of. They seem to deminish the whole fair chase concept giving the game a fair chance to live yet one more year without any severe life threating wounds to heal.

I am guilty of liking all guns. The Sharps are my favorites but I do have a few ARs and use suppressors on them since Florida finally allows them for dee . The .40-50 SBN is pretty quiet compared to my .45-70s .
