Black Powder Side Match at Spokane

Dave and Joe.

I am trying to get a match somewhat figured out for BP at Tommy's range.  When, course of fire etc.  I need to cast some more 38 cal bullets for my 38-55 and load up some ammo.  Need to know how much.  I am running low on the old Swiss powder I am using.  I know Joe would probably like to see an all offhand match Smiley  Maybe some bench, OH and cross sticks?  What think ye?  Anyone else want in?

Cross Stix BP ..sitting at 200 yds is a fun match we do here in Hamilton, 20 shots on paper, Sharps, etc. Just got my 38-55  OH Highwall Helm back for BP shooting...go for it, i'll join in. When I travel the more shooting I can do, is what its all about.  Pete

I can shoot mine off X-sticks. It's only a 13 lb gun.

It takes a well developed Schuetzen muscle to shoot 60# rifle offhand!  Cheesy

I'll be shooting my Remington #1 45/70. With olde eynsford, so as such, I need a .5 inch handicap. Grin

Dave do you know why they didn't approve your .38-50?

You can actually get Olde Eynsford in Canada.  I've been using it and Swiss mostly since last year.  Rusty Wood trading in Mission BC. brought it in for me.  With the low dollar I'm scared to ask him for a price this year.

I also talked with the distributor for Goex in Canada when it first came out.  He will bring it in on an individual basis but you have to pay in advance.  He doesn't like to carry inventory of expensive powders because they don't sell well in Canada.  He sold me his last inventory of Goex Express at his cost.  He just wanted to get rid of it!

I think for at least midrange distances OE 1.5 works very well.

Chris.
