Have a friend that has an odd rifle. He has been told it is a 300 Rook. Any ammo to be had? If not can it be made from any other brass?

F/L size 32 Colt Long in the Rook die. The result will be slightly shorter than the Rook, but still shootable.

Your friend needs to check in  with these folks. They are very knowledgeable  about all things rook.

I have to agree with digitall432 the British Militaria Forums are a great source of information on just about any calibre of British military or civilian calibre. There is even a section of Rook Rifles. The .300 rook is a nice cartridge but like all true Rook Rifles it has limited range, I wouldn't use one on small game over 100 yards away.

Hi

For for this cartridge I find a .300" RN bullet of 80grs  or thereabouts will replicate the original spec. I have a RCBS mould that was special order at the time dont know if it is still available, but also look at CBE in Australia. Good shooting.

Get some Captech 25-20 Basic cases and trim to length.  Then ream the inside of the case deeply enough for your bullet using a chucking reamer.  Works well for my friend up the road.
