Anybody ever use round balls in their schuetzen rifles?  They have flat noses.  Should work, eh?

I use them in my Buettenmuller.  They work fine!

Time to start a thread on the clarification of a bullet and a round ball?

Your turn, kcajeel.

How about proper technique to pour an up side down bullet in an up side down mold?  Cheesy

What is the longest range you get any accuracy?

Nice rifle, Smoke.  Wink  Your rifle has a 48 twist. Can also shoot picket length bullets.

I shoot round balls in my PSRs also. Cheap fun and good off hand practice. More fun than breech loaders. Here's the other side.

I've only shot the gun at 50 yds, but it does a fine job at that distance.

I shot my 54 flint at 200 one time just to see how it would do.  I think it is a 66 or 72 twist GM barrel.   It held about 12"  with RB as I recall. 30 years ago.

The funny part was there happened to be a hunter sighting in at 200 that day. He was one of the few I ever saw beyond 100, despite all those 800 yard one shot kills  Roll Eyes

When we went to the targets, his scope sighted hipower rifle was shooting about the same group as my iron sighted flinter  Cheesy
