I like any dot.  Very easy for the eye to find it fast and know where it is.
Bench I use a 1/8,  of might be easier to pick up the 1/4.

Way easier to see either one instead of finding the intersection of them little cross hairs.

I am thinking a 1/8th min dot just covers a .32 cal bullet hole.
