Used one for years for pistol shooting. These days, I just paint the sight black.

Have used the aerosol sight black. Works good and easy to apply in the wind.

I keep a felt pen in my shooting box, and use it to blacken my front sights.

Most target sights are hooded, and don't need blacking.

Yep.
The one on the left is a backup and never has been lit.
The one on the right with the larger reflector works just fine and dandy, and I even use it to take a stroll around the back 40 at night every now and then.      Smiley

Haven't tried the spray on stuff, and as my eyes see things, the felt pens and paints leave a sorta reflective "tint" instead of a good dull flat black.

Used the spray on black when shooting musket matches in Oregon and Canadia.  Back when I could see a front sight blade.
