What damage is done to rifle chamber when using .22 shots in a .22 long rifle chamber> Also what is the best rate of twist for each of these cartridges? Thanks for your answer, Hank

Shouldn't be any damage to chamber or rifling. Twist is irrelevant, as the shot is not in tight contact with rifling like a bullet is.

The Stevens Favorite made specifically for the 22 Shot cartridge was smoothbored (as was the Winchester 61 made for 22 Shot) for a good reason.
The CCI 22 shot cartridge that uses the plastic capsule hasn't given me any troubles, but the all-brass 22 shot cartridge with the star-crimped case mouth can give extraction resistance after firing in some chambers.
