Husqvarna Vapenfabrik Kal .32-7.65mm

I just acquired one of these. It is a .32-20.
I haven't found much info on it yet.
Were they originally chambered in .32-20 or converted?
Should I stay on the light side of reloading data with cast bullets or just stay within the published data?

Check the bolt face, as I've heard people say they shoot .32-20 WCF, and are chambered for that caliber. But also heard people say the bolt face is too large to extract a .32-20 WCF, and is closer to the rim diameter of a .38 Spl.
You may want to do a chamber cast first, as I am uncertain of whether it's actually .32-20 or not. I found a video on youtube of a guy shooting his Model 25 Husqvarna with .32-20 ammo, and having good results.

But here's an old post from the CastBoolits forum, with some good info on your gun. Appears it is .32-20 originally:

Those Husqvarna turnbolts in 32-20 are commonly reported to be minus extractor. Seems that extracor is easily falling out and lost.

I have never seen any info about loading anything other than standard 32-20 chamber pressure loads. Nor any data about strength. Will note that a larger version of same receiver is chambered for 30-30 Win.

Have one of the same in close to new condition.  Barrel is stamped kal .32-7.65mm. It's not a tack driver, but it is fun to shoot. Far as handloading goes, I've used published data, still trying to come up with an accurate load.

Simpson's Ltd I seem to remember having them in stock. The extractors have nothing holding them on the bolt, so if you remove the bolt off they come. Always thought a cut down 1891 argentine mauser extractor might work. Don't have a milling machine so never tried it. Frank

I have a model 25 in 32-20 double set triggers and more like a butter knife bolt handle also oct. barrel. I cant think of a better rifle to take for a walk in the woods. light quite powerful enough for most small medium game. but then I really like the little cartridges I have a low wall in 32-20 recently sold a Stevens 32-20 can currently have a smith m&p for 32-20. I also have several 25-20 218bee rifles and flat love to shoot them.

if you think you have it figured out  then you just dont understand

I have a No. 35 and a No. 45. I keep the 45/70 loads around trapdoor strength. Hoot to shoot though.
