silly .22 LR question

If I remove the bullet and powder from a .22LR cartridge and shoot it in my garage with the muzzle in a towel, is the report loud enough to hear?  I need to do this for testing purposes.

thanks,

Chris.

I practice offhand in the back yard at 50 yes with CCI quiet.  The bullet hitting the metal trap makes more noise than the report of the rifle.  Blanks will make your ears ring too!

I think my hearing must be going.  I just lit off a couple and they were quite tolerable.

I still remember my ears ringing from when I set off a CF primer using a center punch in my garage.  That was much noisier.  I'll never do that again  Cheesy

put some rags around the muzzle and shoot into a block of wood. You probably won't even know it went off  Grin
