	Ian, I did not get around to building the 35/40 yet. I keep defaulting to the 25/35 Imp as my go-to deer rifle.

The $$ exchange rate plus a hike in international shipping costs has put it out of reach. Even locally made barrels have jumped in price. We'll just have to be patient. 👍🇦🇺

	There is an interesting article on the 35-40 Lewis-Maynard in the current issue of the Black Powder Cartridge News. Lots of information instead of speculation and supposition. George

	Yes that is a good article based on using the shorter case with straight 0.380 neck. I would like to see a drawing of the long case reamer which I read has a slight taper and tighter neck. labop

	Labop, Disclaimer: I am "Nube" to machining, tool and die protocols etc. So attached is a Pacific Tool drawing of the 35-40. This is the drawing I have, not necessarily the one you want. I can't say if the 35-40 drawing is to be used for the shorter 38-55 brass (2.085) or the longer 38-55 (2.125) or something else. The 2.032 number is confusing to me as I'm not sure of the drawings nomenclature. Is the "Datum" line the bottom of the case body, not including the rim..?, I suspect it is. I reviewed the SAAMI Cartridge and Drawing web site. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links). They do not use the same format as Pacific If someone out there can educate me (us) it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Bob PS I can send the xcel file to an email address if needed to forward

	Hi Bob I have had Pacific make a couple of reamers for me. The way I read the Pacific Tool print is that the data line is at the base of the case not including the rim. That would put the chamber length including a 0.057" thick rim at 2.080" The drawing in BPCN would have 2.082" chamber if the rim was 0.057". That print does not call out a rim thickness. The 2.032" dimension includes the transition from chamber to freebore. The freebore in your drawing is 0.150" whereas the BPCN drawing shows no freebore as both dimensions are 2.035". Both of these chambers would use the short brass. Thanks for sharing your drawing. So I am still looking for a design using the long brass. Labop

	Do a search on this site for "35-40 dies and bullet(s) ". On the first page there is 3 drawings for different versions of the 35-40.

	Thanks 25cal. Those drawings show the use of 2.080 brass. HpGuy420 states in a post Apr 02, 2014 that the Mike Lewis used the 2.125 brass. I"ll give Mike a call and see if he has that drawing. Labop
