LOL probably not . Just received scope today.
Got rifle a week ago need to sight it in.
But this is my dad's dog gun he has taken them at 400yds and shot Flys off a target at 100rds so someday  mabe.
The ballard shot a 5 Rd group that a dime will cover up at 50 yds.  It shoots damm good.

I wouldn't cut it, but I'd probably leave it off. Ten years ago I came across a guy who had dozens of screw on sunshades for various old target scopes. I bought them all for what worked out to be about $4 ea. I kept those that fit the various scopes I owned, and sold the rest to a friend who does scope repair. Unsure if he still has any, or what he might have done with them since?
