Range box plans needed

I've done some searching, and my google-foo is not that bad, but have been unable to find good images of a Schuetzen range box with built-in rifle maintenance rest.  If some of you have plans or images to post and share it would be appreciated.  Also, any top-loading rifle cases made of wood.  Thanks....

Your Google-foo system may be corrupt. It happens.  Try "black powder silhouette range box"

Most Schuetzen shooters do not use the sort of box you're looking for. They do there cleaning and maintenance on a rifle rest and bag on the bench.

Thanks.  The rest that I have for my CBA shooting is fine for the CPA but too precarious for the AYDT.  The Cal-Graf shooting boxes look perfect for my needs.  My range maintenance partner is a cabinet maker and I'll run the concept by him.

German rifle, that makes sense. In Germany today, shooters use a bore snake. Makes me cringe to watch.

SO, post a picture of something that you like.
Name some features.
Give some dimensions.
Have to start somewhere....

OK!  This Cal-Graf design is along the lines of what I want for an offhand bench box and a between firings/maintenance rest.  Because of the offhand drop, the uprights will have to be of differential heights with sockets matched to specific points on the rifle for stability.  I really like this design, everything needed in one compact and attractive package.

Agree.  1/2" wide isn't big enough to even see.

Yes like that with mods specific to my needs and scaled to the rifle.  As noted above I have a cabinet making shooting buddy that can do an outstanding job.  I'm surprised you old time single shot guys don't have similar boxes for offhanding.

Travis and Dawna Purdum now own Cal-Graf and I think the quality is even better than it used to be.   He is turning out some great stuff.  He is also an avid BPCR shooter and is getting into schuetzen.  He is widely open to anything custom somebody wants and really enjoys pleasing people by building something their will cherish.  If you have any interest, call him and have a chat.  He likes to talk to shooters.

I have a friend who uses a wood machinist box. He made a pair of supports and channels to use in the top, when the lid is open. Works well, as the two wood supports store in the top, and after opening the lid he just slips on in each end. The rifle can rest in the two supports, and all his accessories are in the drawers. Feels very solid too.

I have used the Cal Graf classic Shooting box for years, mainly BPCR. It is a well thought out design, has held up very well and is quality throughout. If the new owners are open to customer requests for personal modifications or you have source for having one made with the modifications you require it would certainly be a place to start.
