Can anyone tell me who or if they can parkerize a receiver?

If memory serves me, the parkerizing process is credited to our old friend Harlow Parkenfarker. He was trying to chrome plate an action once upon a time and, well, let's just say things didn't turn out the way he intended 

LOL, Yep. My Dad had a old flat top Super Blackhawk he had bought early in life. It was used a great deal and was well worn but extremely accurate and locked up well. It had little bluing left and had been rust pitted when he spent a few years in Germany in his early twenties (stored, but not looked after). He met a guy at a gunshow who would parkerize it. Worst mistake ever! Most piss poor job ever completely ruined the gun. I would never get rid of it because it was my Dad's favorite pistol. One day I'll strip all that crap off it and reblue it. It has no value now other than personal. Point being, I have seen some good Parkerizing jobs but when done poorly it is horrendous. Make sure you see other jobs they have done and get referrals.

  With some patience and TLC even a well worn rusty old Ruger can be brought back. This one had lots of hard use and had no bluing or anodizing left. Took it in on trade and made a project out of it. I enjoy shooting it now and had fun reworking it as well.

The CCH was done by John Gillette at Classic Guns Inc. I have had them do mine for years and have always been pleased with the results and the colors.
