I just got the latest journal today.  I really enjoyed the editorial.  I've done some searching on the internet for suppliers of buggy whip dressing but have come up empty handed.  Cheesy

Chris.

Buggy whip dressing’s main ingredient is made from the fat from snail darters and spotted owl poop. As such the Obama EPA has banned these substances. This automatically makes them the perfect thing to use as an ingredient in your secret lube.

Excellent, John!  No mention of flax beeswax in the article, but still excellent and so so true.

When visiting Grandpa last year all I saw in the fields was Canola.

I use it in my bread recipes. Has no taste what so ever. Perfect for baking.

Flax beeswax is a rare commodity. Highly desirable for premium bullet lube. Tough and slippery.

found little colored cubes of wax at Wallyworld after Christmas. Thought it might make the lube a nice color.   It was scented candle wax additive.  didn't add alot of color but my lube sure smells good.  Thinking of calling it schuetzenleisel milk!

Here's what make rapeseed oil an excellent compound for BP lubes ...
contains on average: 7% of saturated fatty acids – palmitic (C16:0) and stearic (C18:0), and polyunsaturated fatty acids – oleic (C18:1, 61%), linoleic (C18:2, 20%), linolenic (C18:3, 10%) and eicosenoic fatty acid (C20:1, 1%).

Rapeseed oil and Canola oil are not the same, Rapeseed yealds a industrial oil not edible. Canola was developed from rape to yeald a edible oil for cooking and other uses. There wasn't enough demand for Rapeseed oil a few thousand acres would flood the market. But Canola for oil is grown on a vast amount of acers in Canada and in the northern states of this country.

In the heyday of BPCR longrange shooting here, everybody tried do show up with a secret invention, everything from secret lubes to barrel warmers  Grin  I wanted to make a lube bullet that had a differnt color in every lube groove, but it was too much trouble  Cry

I like that idea.  You could do seasonal colors, or maybe  red, white, and blue.  Smiley

I think a series of Lube pumps with each bushing drilled to only fill one groove at a time.
