Magnifier for schuetzen rear aperture sight

Over on the Double Guns site (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
I encountered a thread with a drop dead outstanding rifle, one of the accessories being a "Sperberroehrchen", a small tube magnifier that screws into the rear diopter.  Anyone on this side of the pond producing these?

Biggi is familiar with the optical device. Says they are hard to find.

Sperberröhrchen are little tubes with lenses and a thread to screw it into the diopter (rear sight). Has a zoom of 1.5 and helps to see the target.

Sperberröhrchen were made till the 1920s/30s and are not anymore available nowadays. Even broken lenses cannot be repaired by an optometrist, they say.

For a good Sperberröhrchen with clear lenses one has to pay approx. 100 Euros in Germany.

Thanks, Biggi.  I figured as much.  A fellow RSO is a Mercedes engineer and travels to Germany frequently.  He said he'd be on the hunt for me.  Any suggestions were to look?  Thank you for your help

Well, I am searching since some years for a good one in good shape and for a reasonable price...

Sometimes available on "egun" in Germany, but mostly in bad shape and up to 180 Euros. That's to much. And when buying on the internet, one cannot check the quality.
I cannot recommend to buy optical items without proof!!! To much fraud...

BTW: The thread of the Sperberröhrchen doesn't fit into all diopters!

I have a number of Euro-schuetzens one came with that little diopter magnifier.  I have found that it will fit on two of them, the other three are too big.    It made all the difference in the world for me.  because of my eyesight it sharpened it enough that for the first time in years I can actually use iron sights with a degree of comfort and safety.  I've actually thought of having some inside outside threaded adapters made; but those ultra fine metric threads would probably cost dearly.

There was a guy selling some optical insert at Raton in 1999.  They were diopter correction to see the front sight, not magnifiers.

This is the setup I had to use for iron sights before Cataract surgery. It gave me a crisp front sight and the target clear enough to get centered on target. The coupler piece was needed because of the thread miss-match between diopter and sight staff.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

I'm not acquainted with Sperberröhrchen.
If this magnifier increases the target view, as opposed to sharpening the front sight, is it not if fact a scope? Hence, not iron sights?
