I agree that the Lee dies while good for the money it seems for straight wall cases the expander is to steep.
I wondered about an m die but didn't know if it was any better. The thought that I may not be chamfering my mouths enough is something I didn't think about.

Any thoughts on chamfering to after belling the mouth whether this would make any difference
Thanks for the input to all

Jerry

Vall,

Lyman still makes the M-dies, but as far as I know, they no longer sell just the small expander post.  I just ordered an M-die from them Midway and it came in in the last couple of days. But Lyman lists the dies on their website.

In this case, I don't mind that I had to order the whole die - its for my 25-20 2-die set which will only be used for cast bullets so the M-die went right into the box along with the extra sizing die (neck sizer).

I have the long and short M-die bodies and a few loose expanders, but wish I could just buy the posts.  If I had known about the NOE expanders I would have ordered one of the Lee Universal expanders and a NOE expander to use with it.

Chamfering case mouths should be done before belling the cases. I only lightly chamfer, taking less than half the case thickness off.
