Winchester 1885 lo wall in .22 short with MSA tang sight , Lyman #7 Windguage front globe sight [with beech flip type sight inside globe, as well as factory single set trigger. At some point many years ago was re-blued, re barreled, fitted with new stocks & shotgun style butt plate, as well as a skeletonized hammer. I have never seen another front sight like this Lyman #7 Windguage.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Nice old gun. Unusual base for the #7 globe sight.

Nifty. The #7 sight is the neatest.

When I look at the checkering pattern on the wrist it screams Maynard. Maynard??

I like it.

Now that is a Windgage front sight. I in general have not favored the traditional Windgage fronts as they are so delicate. And those who care remove them and then the top section gets lost if the owner comes to some harm. This one is stout and does not have to be removed for protection. Going to be looking for this sight. Regards, FITZ. Smiley

HA! Now I understand. That is what I have called the Beech sight as made by Lyman fitted into a custom made barrel mounted base. No wonder you have never seen another like it. It is most likely one of a kind. Well now I know what I have to consider making.
AH? Regards, FITZ. Smiley
