It is pretty easy to make at home, most hardware stores will have half of what you need, many places sell the trany fluid, kerosene your on your own for the most part it isn't hard to find and if you know someone that has a kerosene heater I am sure they will give you a  pint of so.

A gunsmith friend sent me this link to a very interesting corrosion test.
Not necessarily for BP, but guns in general.

schuetzenmeister,

I have not felt the need to try any other after using the eezox...
I've been using it  on all my black powder rifles for about 4 years....

Thanks, I have been using G-96 since the 80s.  Just wondered if there was something definitely better.

Schuetzenmeister,

somewhere on line, there is a Rust test using Eezox and many other brands we've heard of.
The test was using steel wool near the ocean I believe.
I think the test was for over six months...maybe longer.
that test was what got me to try Eezox... I haven't seen any rust on any of my rifles bores since I've started using it, and some of them I only check maybe once a year.

I'm sure it is good stuff.  None of the comparison tests I have ever seen  include G96.  It could be because it is relatively obscure; it isn't on every shelf like Hoppes.  I started using it when I discovered WD40 displaced moisture but did not prevent rust  Cry

if you're shooting black powder I'd suggest dawn dishwashing soap with as hot of water as you can tolerate. Then rinse with clean hot water. I use an air hose to blow the bore dry. That will get rid of the residue then you can use any bore lube such as Rem oil, CLR, or whatever for rust prevenative.
I don't shoot the substitute black powder so can't help there.

I shot tons of it  Grin  Finally bought Dawn stock when I realized how much I was using and I wore out an air compressor  Grin

I have never shot any BP subs for 3 reasons:  Flintlock will not ignite, Bill Knight, aka the Mad Monk, told my it was more corrosive than  BP and  it was never allowed in any of the BP cartridge matches I shot.

I use Glass Plus as a solvent because it is handy and cheap and doesn't have any ammonia like Windex. I avoid ammonia so I don't have to worry about any reaction in case something happens to have  a bit of chlorine in it.  I try to avoid it too in bore cleaners. Glass plus seems to work well to get a lot of smokeless fouling out quick.
