Frankford, One GUESS would be United States Cartridge co. they had an extensive collection and as I recall marked in some way.

I have the book "U.S. Cartridge Co. Collection of Firearms".
They had over 700 guns.The only Maynard I found was a Civil War carbine 2nd model.No mention of how they were marked.
