Is there a site   where one can go to down load  dimension diagram for  various older  cartridges, particularly  .25 - 20 SS  ?  Is this available somewhere on the ASSRA site?  Or can someone post the  diagram  in Down loadable form?  Also would be interested in same diagram for 12.7X 44R  Swedish   any help appreciated. I don t' find them in my reloading books.   WB

WB, I have been looking for the last several days for the dimensions on the .32-30 Stevens and what available brass could be used to make the .32-30 or .32-35 Stevens brass.  I know custom dies would need to be made as well as a custom reamer.

Do the early editions of COTW give dimensions?

Are you thinking of 32/30 Rem, if so, it's made with 357 Max brass, 32/35 Stevens is made with 30-30--32/40--38/55 etc.  ledball

I have a nice Hepburn in 32/30. It is very pleasant to shoot. I make brass from .357 max brass. Anneal before running in a fl sizing die.

Kurt, thanks for the information.  What dies do you use to resize the .357 Maximum before you fire form? Do you anneal the whole body of the case, upper 1/2, or upper 1/3?
You do have a nice rifle.

I got a set of dies from CH4D.
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
I set my cases base down in a cake pan with about 3/4 " of water ,heat the case from the mouth down 1/2" and quench them by knocking the cases over in the pan. I use imperial sizing wax and just the full length sizer. Then I fireform them.

Kurt,  That tech data and dimensional sheet  for the .32-40 you posted is great.  Please tell us the source for those data sheets.  Is there an on line data base of them,  or is it a book ?  MANY thanks, WB

That info comes from "The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions" By Donnelly.

You can find it on Ebay. Amazon was cheaper.
