MVA 1885 Win price list
Dec 17th, 2015 at 10:10am
Print Post
Does anyone have a price list from MVA for Win 1885 parts?  I have tried to get one from them this week to no avail.  In particular I am looking to see if they sell the single set trigger parts. I have the hammer with fly, proper sear and trigger spring and just need the trigger, catch, pin, spring and screw.

Thanks

Jack

I just got a reply but they are having problems scanning the list. Maybe they saw my post 😃
If so Happy Holidays MVA!  Thanks for supporting our sport!

You could also try C. Sharps and DZ Arms.

MVA is having computer / internet issues. I was able to order the set trigger parts I needed over the phone.

They were very helpful as usual

It has come up a couple of time in the past few months.  I asked about them not being on the web site and Cheryl at the front desk said they are working on it.  I should have the price list and hopefully the parts in a few days.  The single set trigger parts were quite reasonable.

MVA also has the DST group, including the lower tang and Helm lever, for the 1885 as well as all the other parts of the complete action.

In the latest issue of The BPCN magazine the ad for Wyoming Armory states that they have parts for the 1885 Winchester and Ballard rifles. Has anyone contacted them about the availability and specific parts available for the Ballard?

I did about a year ago and got a spring.  Steve said Ballard parts were getting thin.

That sounds great.  I hope they do well selling them.  I will be giving them my parts business at least for my 5 1885s.

Was there maybe a tang sight for an 1885 in that box? Smiley

Vall,

Ayup! There was a #108 Vernier with an 1885 base.  #107 staff came of my 38-55 Cowboy and went on the 40-65 1885 and the #108 staff went on the Cowboy.

There was a #130 for the Ballard No. 2.  Today I realized that it would have been more period correct to have one of the Gallery 130 series sights, but the 130 sure does look pretty on the Ballard!

Monday I called and ordered a #130 for the 25-20 Low Wall.

I wrote last week to ask them about a Ball & Spur lever for a Ballard and here's the respons:

The one Ballard Ball and Spur lever that we have is in a CNC shop in New Jersey ... and we are exploring the possibility of having them made there.

We are also taking about expanding into CNC manufacturing here to make Ballard parts but that is a way down the road before it comes to fruition.
