Anyone know how to find the date of mfg for a Lyman STS based on it's serial number?

I was told that Parson's bought all of the Lyman scope tools parts and records 15 or 20 years ago ken

I'll take a guess that Lyman wont be able to date the serial number. With all the people asking for serial number info all over the gun forums, I would think if the info was out there, it would be posted somewhere by now. At least I've never been able to find it!

In 1973 - 74 I worked in a gunshop and we carried new Lyman Super Targetspot scopes. At that time the scopes came with the white plastic tips on the adjustments knobs and they came in a very thin gray colored plastic box. I think the price was $168.00. Those were the last new Lyman STS's I ever saw.

Bob, Also remember the Unertl small game scopes 4 and 6 power with mounts. Came in a sleeved cardboard box at 39.95. Cost a bit more today.
