It is also very much a regional issue as well. My local Gander Mtn. has plenty, 8 brands, from domestic to cheaper ELEY. Rotates in and out but shelves have been stocked for better than a year.
Several suppliers available  for lower priced match stuff as well. Champions, Zander's, Killough's have several options down to and below $5 a box. Try it, lay in a case, it only hurts once.

Bulk packed SK is my choice now. Groups nearly as well as Eley, and leaves my hands so soft and silky smooth Wink

The wife read this and said that's what I'm going to be shooting from now on.

That sounds like a great line for shooting instructors.

Glenn, I can't wait to see how the  bulk pack ammo works on those 150 yd turkey and 200 yd ram targets.......
I think I'd rather clean the turkeys and rams than not and have soft hands. My ex-wife probably wouldn't care whether or not that I had soft hands or not either lol.
See you at the match on Saturday.

Unless people are hijacking the trucks delivering the rimfire ammo somewhere between the distributers and the stores, I have a hard time believing this inside info.  Anywhere I've been in the last 4 years its the same story...'ya were getting a couple boxes in soon , it's starting to ease up'.  People can't 'scoop it up' if nothing is coming in.

Anyone remember the stacks of a couple thousand bricks of Federal bulk that Walmart use to put in the aisleways? From a tower of 1000s of boxes of 550 to nothing even coming in for supply...just can't see thats hoarding.

I'm betting it's the federal gov't that is buying it and hording it.  Part of trillions of $ of debt.

Cat_Whisperer,

Is that the stockpile of 22 ammo used with the AR-15 conversion kits to train those Obama civilian storm troops that one heres rumors about every now and again?      Wink

Obama has sold 100 million new firearms since 2008, and you're wondering why there's an ammo shortage?

Might well be.  I think we've got a good rumor started here....

So Joe our problem all along has been shopping in the wrong stores?

Stopped at two Walmart stores in the Pflugerville, TX (just north of Austin) area this afternoon and both had several bulk pack boxes of Federal  .22 LR AutoMatch (325 rounds) for $16.97/box.
