Are we regressing?  I thought BP was looked down upon in ASSRA competition shooting.  Just wondering.

I'm just guessing, but maybe the BP smoke leaves too much smutch on the exterior surface of those big expensive objective lenses, and the smutch then leads to verbal expressions that some refer to as smut.      Wink

I have read on this forum that BP was some what discouraged at ASSA shoots and often left up to the Schuetenmeister to allow.  Am I wrong in my interpretation that I can not use BP in a registered match?

It has always been looked up to at Tacoma  Roll Eyes  even revered. We even held impromptu "Smoke Outs" a few times Cheesy but the general membership shooters are tough  Grin They usually stick it out  Angry

Can use any powder you want. Any safe load. Stiff duplex loads and a short barrel can be real annoying for some. Heh heh heh..............   Smiley

That is good to know. I have shot smokeless loads, but prefer BP. I never was a fan of duplex loads.  Prefer the BP. I know there are those who argue that smokeless is more accurate and I have no argument with them.

From other posts that I've read, it sounds like MartiniBelgian has been having very promising experiences with his 32-20 using black powder.
