Barrel considerations

I want to get a barrel on order for an 1885 low wall. I'd like a finished length of 27" in a 22 hornet. Probably in a no. 1 profile but mabey a no. 2.    1/2  octogon 1/2 round.  Are you ordering a palma sized no taper blank then having a smith mill them down? Or are you ordering a tapered barrel then cut the octogons and re taper the round part. Or are you ordering an octogon barrel and just taper the barrel? Ive only found a couple of barrel makers that offer custom profiling. Im assuming it's a toss up between button and cut rifle barrels when using small diameter jacketed bullets.

Call Paul or Gail Shuttleworth and tell them what you want, you'll have your barrel in a few weeks.  Led all

Well hats great news, I read and re read their site and had decided that they did not do anything that was not  CPA or Stevens. Excellent news that they have rks blanks! Thanks so much.

GM offers full-octagon and they are easily turned to half-round.
DZ Arms in OKC also carries barrel blanks and has a fast turn-around for rebarreling. He did my Low Wall in about 8-weeks from start to finish.
