Unless one has marginal chamber wall thickness breech thrust is the critical issue.
units are inches for base, psi for pressure and lbs for thrust

Thanks for the continued input folks.



I had never looked at a list of calculated base thrust numbers for several cartridges like that. It's an interesting view that's making me think in new ways about the relative forces involved. Thanks desert-dude!

The quarter bore matches were conceived of as a match for traditional 25 cal rifles. Ken started the Quarter Bore Corps and has sponsored the matches since the beginning. He has a right to make the rules you may follow them or not your choice. When I started to build a rifle I was careful to make sure that my rifle would qualify before I sunk money in to it. I was passing along information that would allow the reader to make an informed decision in case he ever wanted to compete in a Quarter Bore Corps match.

OK, thanks for the info on the origin of the Quarter Bore.  I always look to make the matches as inclusive as possible.  The odds of getting to Etna Green are slim  Sad  When we go east, too many gun grabbing states to pass through  Cry
