	I shoot a lot of 200 yd offhand gong matches with several 40 cal rifles (40-65, 40-70 40-60) with a cast 260 rnfp sized 408 at about 1200 fps or so I found a nice truncated cone cast bullet sized 410 at 300 grains (for the 41 mag) and have had improved accuracy results with TC bullets in other calibers at or just .001 over groove diam. Would going .002 over groove with this (harder) bullet cause problems/concerns? thanks

	No, I try to get .002 over size for all my cast loads, 32Miller, 32-40, 38-55, 40-65, 45-70--- some may disagree

	Would this require a nice, long, tapered leade so that the bullet doesn't develop "tails" if the rifling pushes the lead back over the base of the bullet?

	Emmett, if the bullet can slide into a fired case, it is optimum diameter for a bpcr. ideally the chamber is not so big that a case will not accept a bullet more than 0.002" over groove diameter. smoke. a 7 degree transition/leade angle combined will turn a flat base into a slight cupped base with a bullet 0.002 over groove. this is the disadvantage of the long leades. still better than shaving lead as happens with 45 degree transitions. keep safe, bruce.

	It depends on what hard is. Do you mean hard as in 20 ; 1 Lead / tin or are you using linotype or some other alloy containing antimony? If lead / tin it should be fine. If linotype the answer is no the alloy is too crumbly to give good accuracy with a plain based bullet. 40 Rod

	40 rod, lyman no 2 and taracorp magnum go down the forcing cones of a lot of revolvers o.k. straight linotype is extremely hard and high in antimony which makes it brittle. keep safe, bruce.

	If you want to use a pistol and shoot at something at 25 yards go ahead use linotype or #2. If you want to hit something at 200 yards use lead / tin. Good bullets aren’t cheap and cheap bullets aren’t good. 40 Rod
